Dakota Evans and his wife, Mallory, established The Bidding Barn LLC in February, 2024. Dakota has been going to auctions since he was a child and loved the way auctioneers sounded, he always dreamed of having his own Auction House. In 2024, he graduated from Carolina Auction Academy as the Best Overall student and received his auction license shortly after. In 2025, he was awarded the North Carolina Rookie Champion by the Auctioneer Association of North Carolina and he also placed as a 3rd place finalist in the teams competition that year. Dakota worked under an auction company where he learned how to conduct live and online auctions and estate sales.

Andy Kearns joined The Bidding Barn in late 2024. Andy’s father and uncle took him to auctions as a young man and his father worked for Greensboro Auto Auction in the 1980s through the 2000s, this is where Andy learned that he wanted to be an auctioneer. Andy worked under John Howell as an apprentice auctioneer, where he sold cars from 1985 to 1989. Andy retired from the USPS and graduated from Carolina Auction Academy in 2023 and received his auction license in 2024. Andy received his Appraisal Certification from Stanly Community College in 2024. Andy has over 40 years of auction experience and has experience working under several auctioneers.
